Get Involved - We Need Your Help

We Need Your Help, without volunteers, scouting programs and our troop would not be possible. If you are not yet a volunteer—but are interested in becoming one—there are several ways to get involved. By volunteering you are helping all the scouts in the Troop be successful. Only registered members may vote on Troop policy or other matters.

Positions and Roles

Leadership, administrative, and as-needed volunteer positions and roles within the Troop Committee and Assistant Scoutmaster ranks are available.

Leadership Roles

• Scout leaders serve in one of the BSA's most important roles. Our Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters directly mentor youth and make a difference in the lives of our scouts.

Administrative Roles

• Share your expertise and special talents to serve the scouts of our troop.

• We are always in need of active and engaged:​

• Committee members

• Merit badge counselors

• Special event committee personnel

As-Needed

• You can volunteer even if you don't have a lot of time to commit.​

• Help supervise or assist with a specific campout or troop event

• Assist or be the adult grubmaster for a campout

• Assist or manage campout or activity planning

• or any number of small tasks to help our troop be successful.

Get Trained

Troop 146 and the BSA are committed to child safety and ensuring that every youth has a positive experience in scouting.  Before being assigned an adult to a leadership position, you need to complete training.

Time Commitment

A few volunteers can do many jobs just okay, but many volunteers can do even more jobs great.

• Time commitments range from a few hours a month to a few hours a week

• We are dependent upon volunteers’ involvement in the planning and behind-the-scenes work necessary to make all troop events and campouts successful.
